 Traditional Thai Massage (Nuad Boran)
For over 2500 years this healing therapy has been taught, practised and handed down through generations of Thai people. Combining acupressure and stretching techniques using the therapist’s fingers, thumbs, elbows, arms and feet, the massage allows the body’s internal energy to flow more freely, thus boosting the client’s energy levels and alleviating conditions such as lower back pain, headaches and stress-related conditions.
It can help:
- to relieve fatigue, muscular cramping and nervous tension
- to make muscle and joints more supple
- to stimulate the blood and lymph circulation for improved physical fitness
- to improve body immunity for anti-aging.
You will also experience feelings of deep relaxation, peace of mind, more flexible joints and even feel taller or years younger!
This 2-day course is highly practical and covers philosophy behind the massage, instruction in and practice of Thai massage moves, contraindications and therapist/client care and safety.
N.B. This massage does not involve use of a massage medium such as oil or cream. It is carried out on a mat on the floor with the client wearing light, loose, comfortable clothing. When attending the course please ensure your own clothing is not restrictive as the stretching techniques require freedom of movement of both therapist and client. You will give and receive the massage several times over the duration of the course – a chance for a well-deserved treat.
Entry Requirement: Body Massage qualification.
Course duration: 2 Day.
Examination System: Continual assessments takes place during the day. On completion of the course a final practical and written test is completed to assess knowledge gained during the course.
