What is Yoga?
Yoga is a mind-body practice in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) with origins in ancient Indian philosophy. The various styles of yoga that people use for health purposes typically combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. There are numerous schools of yoga. Hatha yoga, the most commonly practiced in the United States and Europe, emphasizes postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama). Some of the major styles of hatha yoga include Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vini, Kundalini, and Bikram yoga. People use yoga for a variety of conditions and to achieve fitness and relaxation. Yoga in its full form combines physical postures, breathing exercises, meditation, and a distinct philosophy. Yoga is intended to increase relaxation and balance the mind, body, and the spirit.
Have you ever dreamed of having the time to attend regular yoga classes but never managed to keep them going once work and home life get in your way? Are you looking for a relaxing trip to exotic climbs, in the company of like minded individuals and where you have the chance to learn a new skill to continue in the privacy of your own home after you return to the UK? If so, then this may be just the trip you have been waiting for!
Yoga tuition will be for 1.5 hours each morning and again at approx 6.00pm each evening for a further hour up to a total of 3 hours per day. Groups are kept small to ensure adequate one to one supervision and instruction. Further one to one sessions can be booked privately upon request but these incur an additional charge of £40 per hour.
A comprehensive range of ayurvedic treatments are also available at additional request to compliment the yoga programme. Click here for details.
